Planet EarthAurora – Lights of Wonder
Wonderful shapes and colors in the arctic sky - recommended for ages 12 and older.
Aurora - Lights of Wonder
The aurora is perhaps the most breathtaking natural phenomenon one can experience – as the Northern Lights (“Aurora Borealis”) in the far north and, in the deep south, as the Southern Lights (“Aurora Australis”).
Korean astrophotographer Kwon O Chul has succeeded in capturing this luminous phenomenon in all its multifaceted beauty. In real time and 4K resolution, ultra-high-sensitivity camera technology reveals the splendor and diversity of the aurora – a magnificent dance of shapes and colors in an immersive 360° format beneath the planetarium’s great star dome.
Original footage from aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and realistic computer visualizations bring us closer to both the legends and the scientific study of the aurora. Using our Zeiss sky simulator, we also explore the night sky above northern Norway and discover the best places and times to see the aurora with our own eyes.
Admission: from €12.00, reduced from €7.50. Duration: approx. 60 minutes. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
This show can also be experienced in English via an audio service. Live segments are not translated.
